EU Health Claim 432/2012 : "Olive oil polyphenols contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress."

Health Benefits
| Health Benefits | Details |
| Protection of the heart system | Olive oil has cardioprotective benefits due to its strong antioxidant action that helps clean the lipids from the arteries. Chronic exposure to low doses of antioxidants/anti-inflammatory substances, such as oleocanthal contained in olive oil, offers protection against cardiovascular disease. |
| Diabetes | Protection against Type 2 Diabetes by helping to reduce blood glucose levels. |
| Arthritis |
Contribute to the prevention and treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other types of inflammatory arthritis as it reduces the synthesis of nitric oxide, which is associated with the destruction of cartilage. There is enough evidence that the oleic acid found in abundance in olive oil alone reduces inflammatory markers such as C-reactive protein. |
| Cholesterol Reduction | Contributing to the reduction of LDL cholesterol levels and the treatment of atherosclerosis while at the same time contributing to the increase of HDL cholesterol levels. |
| Vitamin E | Protection from oxidative stress as olive oil is rich in vitamin E. |
| Antithrombotic Action |

| Neuroprotective Benefits | Protection of cells and DNA from damage, multiple sclerosis, and malignant melanoma - Protective effect against Alzheimer's disease (Research has shown the inhibition of the progression of Alzheimer's disease in laboratory animals) |
| Anti-cancer benefits | In particular, oleocanthalia (OLC), a phenolic compound from extra virgin olive oil, has been shown to exhibit anticancer activity in various tumor models. |
| Contributes to skin health |
It contributes to the health of the skin, as it protects it from ultraviolet radiation and has an anti-aging effect due to antioxidant/anti-inflammatory substances contained in it. |
| Benefits against pancreatitis | Prevents acute pancreatitis |
